The Ricoh Aficio 2045e is particularly suited to the harsh environment of a construction site  and, as it is connected to the Monadelphous internal computer network, it can be used as a printer and scanner as well as a photocopier. The Aficio 2045e is a 45 page per minute copier/printer with double side, enlargement,  reduction and large paper capacity. It is currently producing up to 80,000 pages per month. Monadelphous also took a  Service Contract with Ricoh Karratha to keep this important photocopier in full production.

The $500 million Burrup Fertiliser Construction Project is expected to be running until August 2005 and Monadelphous has the contract to erect, install and commission the pipework for the Plant.

The Burrup site was chosen by Burrup Fertiliser as it is close to the extensive Woodside gas fields, which provide the feedstock. The relatively low price of the natural gas was an important reason for the site's selection. Since natural gas is so high in hydrogen content it is particularly suitable for ammonia production. The ammonia is produced by mixing natural gas and water with a catalyst to form oxides and hydrogen. These react with air to produce nitrogen, hydrogen and carbon monoxide. The nitrogen and hydrogen are used to make ammonia while the carbon monoxide is converted into carbon dioxide and used to make urea. Commercial production is expected to begin in 2005 with the ammonia being shipped from the port of Dampier.

Ricoh Karratha is also supplying rental networked photocopiers to other Construction Companies on the Burrup Fertiliser Project.
